PRECISION ATV CORE RETURN POLICY

Precision ATV offers a No Upfront Core Charge program on qualifying remanufactured engines. Instead of paying a core charge when you place your order, you agree to return your original engine core after receiving your Precision ATV remanufactured engine.

All returned cores are inspected and classified as a GOOD CORE, BAD CORE, or NO CORE.

GOOD CORE — NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE

If your returned engine is complete and the major core components are in rebuildable condition, it will be classified as a Good Core.

With our No Upfront Core Charge program, a Good Core satisfies your core obligation and no additional core charge will be added to your order.

A Good Core Must Have:

  • Rebuildable cylinder head

  • Rebuildable crankcase / engine block

  • No holes in the crankcase

  • No spun or severely damaged main bearing journals

  • Major required engine components present

  • Correct engine type/model for the engine purchased

Normal Engine Failure Is Okay

Your engine does not have to be running to qualify as a Good Core.

A Good Core may still have:

  • Failed crankshaft or connecting rod

  • Damaged pistons

  • Worn or damaged cylinders

  • Failed bearings

  • Damaged valves

  • Timing failure

  • Normal internal engine wear

  • Other common mechanical failures

A blown engine does not automatically mean you have a Bad Core.

Our engines are remanufactured from used and failed engines. What matters is the condition and usability of the major core components.

BAD CORE — ADDITIONAL CORE CHARGE

We understand that catastrophic engine failures happen. Even a severely damaged engine may still contain components we can reuse.

If your engine is returned but one or more major core components are damaged beyond rebuilding, the engine may be classified as a Bad Core.

Examples of a Bad Core Include:

  • Non-rebuildable cylinder head

  • Non-rebuildable crankcase / engine block

  • Hole in the crankcase

  • Spun or severely damaged main bearing journals

  • Severe fire damage

  • Severe corrosion or water damage

  • Major required components missing

  • Parts removed from the engine before the core is returned

  • Incorrect engine/model returned

  • Damage or modifications that make major components unusable

Bad Core Charges

A Bad Core does not necessarily mean the entire engine has no value.

Precision ATV will inspect the engine and determine which major core components are usable and which are damaged, missing, or non-rebuildable.

Additional core charges will be based on the damaged or missing components and the applicable core value for that engine family.

Because Precision ATV does not collect the core charge upfront, the applicable Bad Core charge will be charged after inspection in accordance with the authorization provided at the time of purchase.

We still require the damaged engine core to be returned even when a Bad Core charge applies.

 

NO CORE — FULL CORE CHARGE

If you do not have an engine core to return, a full core charge will apply.

A core may also be treated as a No Core when:

  • No engine is returned

  • The core is not returned within the required return period

  • The returned engine is the wrong engine family/model and cannot fulfill the core requirement

  • The returned engine is missing enough major components that it cannot reasonably be considered an engine core

No Core charges vary by engine make and model.

Some engine models may not be available for purchase without a rebuildable core. If you do not have a core, please contact Precision ATV before placing your order to confirm availability and the applicable core charge.

CORE INSPECTION

Every returned engine is inspected by Precision ATV after it arrives.

Your core will be classified as:

GOOD CORE
Core requirement satisfied — $0 additional core charge.

BAD CORE
Core returned, but major components are damaged, missing, or non-rebuildable — additional core charges apply.

NO CORE
No qualifying engine core is returned — full applicable core charge applies.

When significant damage is found, Precision ATV will document the condition of the core. Photos will be provided for significant damaged or non-rebuildable components.

10 BUSINESS DAYS CORE RETURN REQUIREMENT

Your engine core must be shipped back within 10 Business days of confirmed delivery of your Precision ATV remanufactured engine, unless other arrangements have been approved by Precision ATV in writing.

If the core is not returned within the required period, the applicable No Core / Full Core Charge may be charged.

The core is still required to be returned even if a core charge has been assessed unless Precision ATV provides written authorization stating otherwise.

 

RETURN PACKAGING REQUIREMENTS

Your core engine must be returned using:

  • Original Precision ATV shipping box

  • Original foam inserts

  • Supplied plastic engine bag

Place the core in the same packaging used to deliver your remanufactured engine and make sure it is properly positioned and secured before shipping.

Do not discard the original box or foam.

If the original packaging is not used and the engine is damaged during return shipping, the customer may be responsible for additional charges resulting from that damage.

 

IMPORTANT CORE POLICY SUMMARY

GOOD CORE = NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE
Complete engine with rebuildable major core components.

BAD CORE = PARTIAL / ADDITIONAL CORE CHARGE
Engine is returned, but major core components are damaged, missing, or unusable.

NO CORE = FULL CORE CHARGE
No qualifying engine core is returned.

Remember:

Your engine can be blown up and still qualify as a Good Core.

Precision ATV expects normal engine failures. Core classification is based primarily on the condition, completeness, and rebuildability of the major core components, not simply on whether the engine runs.

All core classifications are determined after inspection by Precision ATV.
