Get useful information from dyno testing
A dynamometer measures an engine or vehicle's performance under a controlled set of conditions. It can provide a baseline to compare against later work, or help evaluate the effects of an existing build or modification. A peak-power figure is only one part of the result; consistent testing and the complete setup matter when interpreting measurements.
Bring the details of your machine
Before discussing a dyno or ECU service, have the machine's year, make, model and engine configuration available. List important changes such as intake or exhaust components, fuel choice, engine work and ECU modifications. The options available depend on the specific platform and hardware, and not every vehicle uses the same tuning process.
